Educational Visits
A trip to Cholderton Charlie's Farm is a fun and educational day out for all ages, especially as we are a Rare Breeds Survival Trust Centre. Children and adults can learn about our rare breed animals, why they are so important and how we are trying to make sure they survive through our breeding programme.
On arrival the group will be met by one of our members of staff and you will be taken to our education centre where you can leave your belongings and you will be given a health and safety talk and an activity timetable.
We have a teachers pack with a range of activities that you can choose but feel free to tailor the day to your curriculum or area of study. If you need specific talks or activities just let us know and we will try and help you.
There is plenty of space to have a picnic if the weather is nice or you can eat in the education centre. Alternatively we can also supply lunch if pre booked, which will be freshly made in our cafe, hot or cold food available.
We offer you the chance to make a pre visit in order to carry out a risk assessment and ask any further questions. This also allows you to locate where all the hand washing/hand sanitizer facilities are and ask staff about health and safety on farms.
Our prices are as follows:
Entry into the farm, bag of animal feed and tractor ride: £4.50 per child/£4.95 per adult.
We can also supply lunch if pre booked, which will freshly made in our cafe, hot or cold food available.
We allow 1 free adult per 10 children if the children are over 5 and 2 free adults per 10 children if they are under 5. The minimum group size is 8.
