Well here you can do all these things and more....come and join us for family fun as it's meant to be! Our family owned farm at Cholderton is a Rare Breeds Survival Trust Approved Centre; one of only 19 in the UK (www.rbst.org.uk).First opened in 1987 it has quickly become a special place with many people returning again and again for an enjoyable day out for all ages.Set in Wiltshire's stunning countryside and only 4 miles from Stonehenge, this is farm life as many would wish it; welcoming, caring and huge fun for everyone. Visitors can see our wide range of farm animals including the "Baby Farm" where lambs, kids and piglets all happily wandering around with their mums (seasonal). You can also feed the animals with food bought in the shop. With eight breeds of sheep roaming in a special paddock areas, five breeds of pig, three breeds of goats, innumerable rabbits of various breeds, a variety of breeds of poultry, three breeds of ponies, including the new Eriskay foal who was born in March this year, there's so much to see and an enormous amount of fun to be had! Breeding Programme We take pride in our breeding program which is helping to increase the numbers of rare breed farm animals in Britain and save them from extinction. The pride of our program is our three Eriskay ponies from the Hebrides in Scotland. These are small ponies that used to be used for draft work and driving before cars were invented!Unfortunately the species has been getting smaller and smaller in number until finally they got to the stage when there were so few left that the Rare Breeds Survival Trust considered their status critical and took measures to up the numbers. A little known fact is that they are still rarer than the giant Panda!We are enormously lucky to have three of these beautiful animals right here on the farm for you to see and hopefully we can get to the point one day with your help and our hard work when they are thriving and a long way from extinction. Pets Park Pets Park is a wonderful place where you can cuddle and stroke the friendly pygmy goats whilst feeding them. Rabbit World In Rabbit world you can see many different types of rabbit of all different sizes and watch the babies in their homes whilst their mothers potter around. Here you have the opportunity to stroke the bigger rabbits whilst learning all about them. Maybe if you?re lucky you could take a rabbit home with you as a pet!
